Mission
Spheris is a contemporary art gallery featuring artworks with strong conceptual foundations and technical prowess. Represented artists evince powerful mark-making and textural concerns, impeccable craftsmanship and, often, a focus on progressive regional artwork. The gallery director, Cynthia Reeves, maintains that art is intellectual and aesthetic and includes both visual and visceral experiences.

Background
Located in Hanover New Hampshire, Spheris gallery has a fourteen-year history of exhibiting compelling, contemporary artwork in New England. In 1995 the gallery initially opened in the village of Walpole, New Hampshire.  Now located on the Main Street of Hanover, New Hampshire, it has since become a significant voice in exhibiting contemporary art from regional, domestic, and international artists.  In 2000, due to the positive response from private and corporate clients,  the gallery owner, Cynthia Reeves, opened a  space on Bond Street in New York by appointment. The New York location expanded to a commercial gallery in 2003, now CYNTHIA-REEVES, in the Chelsea art district. Spheris Gallery and CYNTHIA-REEVES continue to feature some of the best emerging and mid-career artists in the country, participate in both national and international art fairs, as well as support local arts initiatives.
